Betting on college sports, including teams like the Arizona Wildcats, is permitted, though prop bets on individual college players are not allowed. To place a bet, whether online or in-person, bettors must be at least 21 years old and physically present within the state. On the same day, retail sportsbooks opened at two major sports stadiums: FanDuel at the Phoenix Sun’s Footprint Center and Caesars at the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chase Field. Legal sports betting in Arizona officially began on September 9, 2021, with BetMGM and DraftKings among the first books to go live. Wagering on Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) was also legalized.
